Power of Zinc661

KAYA Vision is proud to announce the Zinc661 industrial camera, a breakthrough in high-resolution, high-speed imaging for industrial and research applications. Designed to eliminate the long-standing compromise between resolution and frame rate, the Zinc661 empowers engineers, integrators, and researchers to achieve precision, speed, and reliability in a single device.

At its core, the Zinc661 features a Sony IMX661 12-bit 4K-class CMOS sensor, delivering an extraordinary 13,400 × 9,528 pixels—over 128 megapixels of raw detail. The wide 56.7 mm diagonal sensor and 3.45 µm pixel pitch capture fine surface details while maintaining a high signal-to-noise ratio. With a dynamic range exceeding 70 dB and temporal noise below 2.7 e-, the camera provides accurate measurements across highly reflective and dark surfaces alike. Selectable bit depths from 8 to 14 bits allow users to optimize radiometric precision for any application.

To move massive data volumes efficiently, the Zinc661 integrates a PCIe Gen 3 interface, capable of up to 64 Gbps theoretical bandwidth and sustained payloads exceeding 5 GB/s. This enables lossless 12-bit frame delivery directly to system memory, with sub-microsecond trigger-to-exposure latency and deterministic timing. The rugged, fan-less chassis ensures reliable operation in industrial environments up to 70 °C, with MIL-STD-810G-tested shock and vibration tolerance. Optional IP67 lens tubes further protect against dust, spray, and debris.

High-Speed, High-Resolution Imaging Across Applications

Electronics and PCB Inspection: Detect sub-micron defects such as solder voids, micro-cracks, and etching anomalies in a single pass. Built-in LUTs and flat-field correction simplify lighting normalization, while high dynamic range ensures clarity across mixed-material boards.

Robotics and Machine Guidance: Low-latency image capture aligns perfectly with high-speed servo and pick-and-place systems. GenCam-compliant controls allow dynamic adjustment of exposure, gain, and ROI from PLCs or ROS nodes, ensuring precise guidance even in demanding motion tasks.

Metrology and Motion Analysis: Capture wide-field events at full resolution without losing micro-texture details. Subsampling modes and ROI readout allow frame rates above 400 fps for transient phenomena, ideal for materials research, fluid dynamics, and high-speed testing.

Continuous Production Line Inspection: Free-run operation supports defect detection on roll-to-roll films at speeds up to 200 m/min, eliminating missed defects and reducing inspection cycle times.

The Zinc661 simplifies system design by merging ultra-high resolution, fast frame rates, and industrial-grade reliability into a single platform. Integrators can reduce hardware complexity, minimize optics and cabling, and lower power consumption—all while achieving faster throughput and higher measurement accuracy.

Integration and Developer Support
KAYA Vision provides the JetCam SDK for straightforward system integration, including support for multi-ROI capture, direct GPIO triggering, and efficient buffer management. Pairing the Zinc661 with a KAYA Vision PCIe host card or FMC carrier ensures real-time streaming with zero dropped frames, helping engineering teams maximize both performance and uptime.

With the Zinc661, KAYA Vision delivers a camera built not just for imaging, but for precision, speed, and reliability across industrial and research applications, helping manufacturers and scientists alike achieve faster results, lower costs, and higher quality outcomes.
